Check out the SBG blog for a Freebie

Hello Everyone,
If you like the snowman with marshmallows wrap I made, check out the SBG blog to get your very own template to make it, along with instructions.

If you do make one, I'd love to see it! 1907

Printables

I made this wrap for Kaylie's marshmallows that she brought to school for the xmas party.
Text: I heard that you've been naughty, so listen here is the scoop, I'm running short on coal this year, so here's some snowman poop! :)
I made miniature tags for Liam. I then glued mini candy canes to the card. I took pity on the teacher...imagine 20 kids high on sugar running around the room! LOL. Liam was pleased with the tags...he even got to sign his name.

Lilacs - She Wore Lilacs on her Hair

This is the 2nd time that I have used this kit of Lorie’s and love the resulting page. Usually I am more of a textures and background papers person and not much into the use of lots of elements, but as always, there is an exception to the rule and this is it! I love the realistic floral elements and classic textures of the papers, which allow me to create a page outside of my norm.
Note: I made the twigs frame out of a twig provided in the Archives Collection. The main bg. ppr. was recolored to Lilac to match my layout.

Sick kids, day 2

The kids are slowly getting better. Liam's cold appears to be running its course...didn't sneeze as much as he did yesterday. They have been on a 4 hour schedule taking meds. so the improvement is noticeable.

They are both looking forward to going back to school. Me too.

Guess Who Are Home Sick Again?

Yes, both of them are home sick, again.
Liam is an allergy sufferer so his nose is always congested. Kaylie, while not an allergy sufferer, has a slightly different kind of problem...she is like a mucous factory. Enough said.

Anyway, Kaylie woke up this morning with red cheeks and was extremely hot. Her temperature was 102. She cried her little eyes out when I told her she wasn't going to school.

Liam, on the other hand, was sneezing and had a runny nose....there it goes, grab it! Runny (running) nose...yeah, I know, lame joke. Anyway, I sent him to school and get a call back an hour and a half later that 'he isn't doing well, pls. come pick him up.'

Off I go to pick him up. Wouldn't you know, when they get home, they are better, or so it seems. Anyway, here are today's freebies:

Andrea has a cute template...
Bren has a Santa hat...adorable!

This project is so easy to make and very useful, too.All you need are two circles and a brad. For this project, I made the top circle 7" inches, and the 2nd circle (bottom) 6.75". Notice the placement of the brad...it is on top of a snowflake, which makes it look like a tiny button.
P.S. And don't forget to cut an opening where the word will be visible!
I used Bren Boone's CHILLY WILLY papers and the snowmen is from MERRY MEMORIES, also by Bren. The snowmen in the blue circle is the original color. The snowman for the girl version has been altered in color...This neat contraption makes it fun for the kids to practice reading and spelling their popcorn* words from school. Obviously, I can do this straight from a list, but that isn't any fun. This is cute, cute, cute and they get to spin the circle to pick a word, which makes it fun for them.
*popcorn: High usage words that enable beginners to learn to read.
Liam is learning the months of the year and days of the week so that is what his words are all about, as well as some christmas words. For Kaylie, she is learning popcorn words, so all of her words are from a list supplied by the teacher. I used words that she really needs to practice and focus on.

Christmas Cheer is Here to Stay.

I figure since we are all in Christmas mode, that I should have the music to liven up the blog a bit.

For your enjoyment, I have selected (with the help of Liam, of course) a variety of songs to put you in a festive mood.

Enjoy!
P.S. If you don't like the one currently playing, fast forward to other selections.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Aren't these the cutest decorations ever? I love the felt penguin and snowmen. I especially like the Santa ornament...pay close attention to the pet on Santa's shoulder...it looks like a Chihuahua. I have a Chihuahua...
