ADSR Challenge 10 - The Secret Garden

I have had this sampler by Weeds and Wildflowers for a while now and couldn't thing of a better choice for my page. I love, love, love their style...funky/grungy/earthy/fun...whatever it is, I love it all.

ADSR Chall. 6 - ROADBLOCK!

Boy, they weren't kidding when they said that this was a roadblock! This was a "messy" challenge. And for those of you who know me, I don't do messy, funky or cluttered. Anyway, the challenge consisted of using 2 pattern pprs., 1 plain ppr., fancy title AND 15 elements. I know that you are thinking this does NOT sound hard, right? The kicker is that you are only allowed to use 2 things (be it element or pprs.) by designer.

Chall. 4 for the Amazing Digi Scrap Race: Goals

This is my layout for the Goals challenge (week 2, chall. 2) at Plain Digital Scrapping. Sylvie's kit LITTLE SUMMER BREEZE, with its luscious colors was perfect for my page. I have had the kit for several weeks now just waiting for the right opportunity to come along and it is here, at last!

Boy oh boy do I love that alpha! The distressed look and folded bits are just wonderful! The flowers are funky and beautiful, but I absolutely went bonkers for the cardboard stitched flowers and the coral/red bg. ppr. I am starting to sound like my friend, Kim, who tends to like one specific item from a kit and uses it in each layout that she makes for a while. I do like it when she obsesses as she can be very creative.

Anyway, I am very happy to be done with my challenges. Now I can breathe at ease again. 1488

This summer has been a bit trying. The boys seem to be bickering more than normal and pushing the boundaries just to see what I will do. So when we took a trip to our local museum, and they were able to dig for dinosaur bones without the normal fussing and fighting,I was happy!

EEEk! It's a Gypsy Moth Caterpillar Invasion!

I guess I must be a photographer at heart because I don't let the fact that caterpillars give me the creeps interfere with me taking a photo. :)


The Gypsy Moth Caterpillars have taken over Long Bridge Park. They can be seen EVERYWHERE. As we headed deep into the woods, the sound of munching leaves could be heard loud and clear. They were devouring leaves like there was no tomorrow. They could be found over the banisters, under the leaves and branches and all over the walkways. As evidenced in the below photo, Kaylie and Liam are trying to maneuver walking around them, to no avail. The kids, who usually fight and scream because they don’t want to depart the park, were begging to leave. June 1, 2007.

Scrap Therapy #9 at Scrapbook-Graphics - Pivotal Moment

Sometimes events happen for a reason. When I lost my son shortly after being born, life as I knew it came to an end. Gone were the rose-colored glasses with which I viewed life. My eyes opened to the stark reality that as much as I wanted my son to be alive, I couldn’t bring him back. I can’t tell you what happened in the months that followed...it is all a blur. Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Time and life went on. I had to return to normal life whether I wanted or not. I enrolled at the Cittone Institute of Technology for a course in Office Automation. I excelled in my classes and was asked to be class valedictorian. I declined it because I hate being the center of attention. After graduation, I applied to a few places and even found the perfect job, for which I was more than qualified and even paid me more than I had asked form but I was not happy. After two weeks in the job, I quit. One day I noticed an ad in the newspaper from an adoption agency looking for a secretary. I interviewed for the position and subsequently hired. While there, I learned all I could about adoptions, from both an adoptive parent’s and a birth parent’s position. With eyes wide open, it became clear to me that this was Providence guiding my way to regain that which I had lost: a precious child. On January 3, 2001 my beloved daughter was born, as was I. Sixteen months later I was blessed with my son Liam. My rose colored glasses are back on for good! Reality Scrap! Gosh, You Are Beautiful (How to Romance Your Pizza and Eat It Too!)

An everyday event, Liam repeating something that he heard from the T.V.We went to the Moorestown Mall yesterday and on our way home stopped to pick up a pizza for the kids. Kaylie finished eating her pizza, left the table thus leaving Liam alone. All of a sudden I heard Liam talking. He was saying, “Gosh, You Are Beautiful,” as he was eating his pizza. I busted out laughing upon hearing this and asked him why he was talking to his food. He gave me a look of disgust while telling me to not listen to him talking. (His way of saying, “Mind your own business, Mom!) He recently saw an episode of the”Fairly OddParents” where Timmy was telling Trixie, “Gosh, You Are Beautiful!? I guess Liam felt it necessary to compliment his pizza and worthy of such loving declaration.
