Allergy Testing is NOT Fun!

Poor Liam. I took him to the allergist today for testing. The first photo shows all the spots where he was tested with different allergens. I had to sit him on my lap (straddle) so I could hold his hands to keep him from scratching. After 20 minutes, 4 spots were positive for allergens. The doctor then did another round of testing, but this time they were using syringes so Liam did not tolerate this test at all. He was scheduled for 11 syringes but only did 4. Boy did he cry. My poor baby was so upset because the syringes had to be injected in between the skin so they really hurt. Anyway, it turns out that he is allergic to trees, grass, wool and ragweed. He will now be on 2 medications to try to control his allergies. Crossing my fingers that the newest medications will do the trick and he won't miss out on school as much this year.

And yes, I had to document this for his scrapbook...:) I am foremost a scrapper of little memories, and this is one of them, right?

Oh, before I forget, Kaylie was in the waiting area, but the minute she heard Liam crying she came over to inquire about his welfare. Isn't she the sweetest girl ever? She likes to mother him. In fact, dh thinks that She and I are driving Liam nuts. :)

New Blog Header

Time for a blog makeup! I am trying to change the layout of the blog, but not having any luck. I might have to close this one and open a new one in a format I like.

I used the Bouncing Bunnies and Brownies Coll. and Faerily Moonlit by Lorie Davison at SBG.

If you don't know who she is, you haven't been to my blog in a long, long, long time. :)

Taran Conyers / Climbing Trees is for the Monkeys!

I did this layout for the Taran Conyer's playday over at Scrapbook-Graphics. I love, love, love the colors of this page, and the monkey sticker is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!
While I was in the kitchen, you and Kaylie went out to the backyard to play. Nimble as a monkey, you climbed up the tree; however, you got your foot stuck up on a high branch and couldn’t get it out. ¡Mama! ¡Mama;! I need help! My foot is stuck! By the time I realized you were in trouble, Kaylie had already gone up the tree to dislodge your foot. You learned your lesson: climbing trees is best left to the monkeys!

The Bovine Project

Aren't you amazed at how crafty Kaylie and I are becoming? As if last week's STAR OF THE WEEK PROJECTS ( Here Birdie ATCs, Splash ATCs and Booklet/Presentation) weren't enough, we now have to work on an animal project.
The specifications are that we must use a box, include 5 facts about the animal of our choice and try to make it as realistic as possible.
I googled the cow facts and had Kaylie choose her favorites, which she then had to write down in index cards.
Our supplies, if you want to try it out :)
Tacky glue
Hot glue and glue gun
brads
staples
grosgrain ribbon (for tying the tail and for the custom made bow that decorates one of the ears)
scissors
felt (black and white)
pink card paper (for utters and underside of cow)
box
index card/pencil/crayons
Cow parts I downloaded from the net, which I then sized and cut for assembly.
plastic straw
Christmas garland (for wiggly, fuzzy tail)
(Note: I am starting to feel like McGiver. Remember him? If you don't know who or what I am talking about click HERE.) I used to love watching him. (notice I said him, not the show. :)
But I digress, the project was due tomorrow and we finished it 1 day ahead of time. She was one happy camper this morning. (the pictures aren't great, even though I tried to fix them. It is dark and rainy today so the photos are dark, even with flash.
Anyway, now you know why I have been away and why I have been so busy. I can't wait to see what our next project is going to be!

Faerily Moonlit / Buttercups

Yesterday, I raved about 3 kits...this is one of them. The previews on these kits do NOT do the kits justice. For example, in Faerily Moonlit you are not able to appreciate the deep, rich colors and textures of the papers as shown on the previews. The kit is jam-packed with gorgeous custom elements and fantastic illustrations. If you think that the price is steep, think again. The quality and attention to detail is evident in all the pieces. I can't say enough about Lorie and her designs.

Dana Frantz/Splash/Artist Trading Cards & Envelopes

Splash page set by Dana Frantz at Scrapbook-Graphics.

Isn't this the brightest, most fun under the sea kit you have seen in a while? I love the bright colors and illustrations. The fish holding up the frame looks wonderful printed.

Yesterday I had a presentation at Kaylie's school about my "job." I chose scrapbooking as my job. As a treat, I made these ATC cards for the boys in her class. The girls got the "Litte Birdie" ATC cards that I posted earlier on today. They loved looking at my books. One of them even had his card with him today.

Baersgarten Grab Bag / Artist Trading Cards

Studio Baersgarten has just release a new grabbag....here is what I made with it. Those little owls are super cute. Iara made 6 different little owls and 2 trees. The blue tree depicted in my ATC I customized by inverting the colors. The colors are so delicious...remind me of cotton candy. Anyway, if you are on the fence about spending spending $3.00 for this kit, don't wait too long...it is worth EVERY penny you spend on it.

Isn't this the cutest spaceman and little alien ever? I might have to get this one.
I love the planets and color scheme!

Altered State: ATC Kit by Traci Sims & No More Death,No More Tears

I guess you already know what is on my mind as of late...death. I call it my muse. Unless you have this kit, you won't know that I used the liquefy filter to give the child a faint smile...she was too serious for my liking. I have a serious crush on this bg. ppr. The colors are gorgeous and it has an incredible texture that makes you want to run your fingers through the paper to feel its ridges...

NO MORE DEATH, NO MORE TEARS
